Job Description:

The Independent V&V Lead will lead the DO-254 Independent Verification and Validation for the MGUE Next Generation ASIC within Aviation Systems.


The role entails being responsible for leading the MGUE Next Generation ASIC Independent Validation and Verification group. The responsibilities associated with the role are critical for the Next Generation ASIC because they incorporate independent functional verification of the ASIC RTL blocks and system on a chip before release to analysis along with functional verification when the proof of design first silicon is available after fabrication. The role requires one to lead the group in following a rigorous processes for verification against requirements and generation of artifacts in order to meet DO-254 requirements. The role requires a subject matter expert with the critical infrastructure used for ASIC development and test including the Cadence Palladium accelerators. These $1.5M devices allow the complete ASIC design to be run in simulation along with software for all 4 processors and are used to design, test and verify all blocks of the ASIC. L3Harris has used Palladiums for ASIC development for development of 4 generations of GPS receiver ASICs, enabling the development of an ASIC that is proven to work before fabrication, providing a strategic advantage not enjoyed by our competitors.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar Technical Discipline

  • Experience leading a team of ASIC design and verification engineers

  • Experience with DO-254 verification and validation processes and development of compliant DO-254 documentation.

  • Experience with Cadence CAE tools for simulation, verification, power analysis, synthesis

  • Experience with Cadence Palladium accelerators

  • LINUX administration experience

  • Experience in automating ASIC verification workflows with scripts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with the design and verification of GPS receiver ASICs

  • Experience with RTL handoff for physical ASIC design

  • Experience working with L3Harris processes and procedures for ASIC design, verification, and DO-254 compliance
