We are looking for a Respiratory Care Practitioner I with Respiratory
Therapy Department at St. Mary Medical Center.
Location: Apple Valley,CA
Schedule: Full time
Provides Respiratory Therapy in all non-critical areas and all adult critical care areas of the hospital as ordered by the Medical Staff of St.Mary Medical Center. Such procedures include but are not limited to, the following: mechanical ventilation (BIPAP), oxygen therapy, limited patient assessments, comprehensive patient assessments (TDP), chest physiotherapy, coughing and breathing exercises, aerosol therapy, CPR, administration of aerosolized medications and therapeutic gases. Draws, analyzes, and interprets blood gases. Performs quality control and maintenance on blood gas and co-oximetry instruments. The RCP I moderately exercise independent judgement, make Respiratory Care decisions and takes action based on the knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Supervises the patient care of Respiratory Care Students. Reports appropriately through the chain of command.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic knowledge of Respiratory Therapy Procedures
Ability to operate and troubleshoot basic Respiratory Therapy equipment
Critical Thinking skills
Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, personal computer and printer)
Education: Graduated from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
Experience: Clinical experience in Respiratory Therapy combined with a
background in physiology and pharmacology.
Training: Knowledge of theory and techniques with scope of practice.
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner by evidence of Primary Source Verification
