How will you make an impact?

This position, reporting into the Associate Director of Facilities, is responsible for managing the company's Facilities Projects within Carlsbad. This position will anticipate, plan, budget, and schedule facility construction and modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. This position will lead and execute on building expansion, space allocation and layout, building infrastructure, as well as closely partner across functions with our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) teams to ensure safety, environmental compliance and sustainability efforts. This position will be responsible for enabling building system infrastructure that meets health and safety standards.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for critical construction projects as needed.

  • Responsible for liaising and interacting with business leaders (Vice Presidents/General Managers) to understand site real estate, space planning, facilities, security, operational, manufacturing and EHS needs to support business growth.

  • Ensures compliance with EHS and Facilities regulations and codes

  • Maintains all building plans and as-builts.

  • Oversees site space planning for optimization, site density, employee engagement.

  • Manages contractors and subcontracts for construction projects.

  • Conducts site audits for compliance with company global standards.

  • Implements programs and strategy in line with/by Global Facilities and Global Security

  • Impart knowledge and skill to team member and implement best practice across the region.

  • Monitor utilities spending and drive energy/water/gas conservation initiatives and projects.

  • Lead practical process improvements (PPI) and continuous improvement projects to achieve productivity and cost savings targets

  • Manage project budgets and verify financial performance and actual deliverables.

  • Select, develop and evaluate personnel

  • Provide coverage for overall Carlsbad Facilities team when necessary

How will you get here?

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field, and/or CFM or PMP

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Facilities Management / Engineering field with extensive Project Management experience and at least 6 years' experience in people management preferred, within the field.

  • Excellent leadership/coaching skills; continuous improvement mindset; adaptable
