You have an understanding of and passion for statistical data analysis
You have experience in building large scale real-world backend and middle-tier systems in Java and/or Scala
You have an understanding of scaling Big Data applications
You have a knowledge of Spark, Kafka
You have an agile software development experience
You have an excellent problem solving and communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
You are a highly motivated, self-directed, fast learner
You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
You have an ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving extraordinary quality
You are upbeat, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitude
You’ll be working on an end-to-end solution by enhancing our streaming data pipeline and working closely with data scientists and client teams to define meaningful KPIs to help with troubleshooting and improving how our software behaves in real-world situations.
Education & Experience
BA/BS in CS or equivalent work history
Experience with any major Ruby web framework (Sinatra, Rails) a plus
Familiarity with Test Driven Development a plus
Knowledge of data mining and visualization of large data sets a plus
An understanding of R or other statistical computing packages (commons-math) is a plus
