Position Summary
Responsible for the driving/picking up donations, weighing and recording incoming donations and assisting with putting donations in appropriate location.
Essential Functions
Daily pick up of food donations from partner agencies for food bank.
Keeping accurate records of weight and value of donations.
Assist with ensuring donations are placed in proper location.
Pick up other donations as needed.
Assist with stocking and organizing pantry.
Assist with breaking down boxes and taking trash to dumpster.
Maintain clean vehicles.
Keep mileage logs for vehicles.
As liaison maintain positive working relationships with volunteers, visitors, and community representatives.
Pick up and deliver toys and gifts during Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
All other duties assigned.
Requirements
Working Conditions
Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience working effectively with clients, staff and others of diverse backgrounds and interests.
Valid California driver’s license to drive Salvation Army vehicle. Must be able to pass background check and Decision Driving test.
Bilingual English /Spanish preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures, helpful
Good oral and written communication skills
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of vehicles operations

Ability to multi-task
Good presentation
