Production Engineer

The Production Engineer is a key team member who translates design intent into reality, has a passion for making things, a keen eye for detail, and is a skilled communicator. Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the creation of complex and highly detailed 3d models, production files and fabrication documents from these models, assembly and fabrication support and coordination and product database oversight.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with the product development team consisting of designers, marketing, sales staff, and engineers to develop architectural products and solutions.
Quickly iterate through components/detail designs with input from the design team and clients.
Generate highly detailed production-level models utilizing Solidworks and Rhino.
Generate fabrication documentation, BOMs, CNC production files and QC documentation/protocols, and training documentation.
Create and maintain product BOM?s, CPQ rulesets, database documents, and product numbers using ERP software.
Manage team communications to keep key stakeholders up to date on product launches and revisions including, but not limited to announcements, change requests, product diagrams, and installation manuals.
Develop and optimize automation routines to expedite workflow and minimize human error.
Have a strong functional knowledge of the machines and processes at Arktura.
Provide assembly and fabrication support for key mockups
Perform QC and first article inspections on parts, assemblies and mockups.
Train Arktura staff on the use and manufacture of new products or product improvements.
Support and direct production team members during the production phase of a project and troubleshoot/solve potential issues as they arise.
Interface with vendors and source component hardware and services.
Manage multiple tasks, responsibilities, and projects simultaneously.
Set one's own schedule and work efficiently under agreed upon time constraints.
Skills and qualifications:
Proficient in Solidworks
Rhino, Grasshopper a plus
Strong graphic and layout design
Microsoft Excel and Word
Exceptional communication skills
Interested in product design and are comfortable working with your hands.
2+ years experience with fabrication and machining experience
2+ years experience with architectural design, detailing, and construction details
Experience with product design/development a plus
Hand sketching
Graduate in Mechanical Engineering or similar program
Experience with programming languages
Outstanding creative and analytical problem-solving skills
Team player, with the ability to work independently
Highly organized, thoughtful, and responsible
Exceptional ability to focus on details but also able to see the big picture
High level of initiative and a self-starter
Able to work quickly and juggle multiple projects
Good time management skills
