Fortive Corporation In-Process Inspector in Hollister, California
The QC Inspector performs a range of tasks and building initiatives. Generally, the QC Inspector ensures that manufactured products meet the specified requirements by utilizing various measuring tools. The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Track daily production activities and escalate any problems to the Quality Engineer and/or Quality Manager or other key operational team members.
Perform all in-process inspections per manufacturing procedure, including final inspection of finished products.
Monitor QDIP process and review performance through the daily metrics. In addition, monitor relevant KPI’s.
Monitor cell/building-specific actions pertaining to In-Process Inspection to ensure timely completion.
Monitor accuracy and correctness of build books and other manufacturing documentation.
Engage and participate in standard work processes throughout various work cells.
Generate all nonconformance reports (NCRs) within assigned area, and escalate issues to IPT team members to help drive closure of NCRs.
Work alongside IPT team members to drive Root Cause / Corrective Action for recurring issues or defects occurring within work cell.
Submit suggestions and provide solutions for inspection improvement implementation.
Involve team members in problem solving activities and QDIP assignments.
Support Quality, Engineering and Auditors during site visits and audits.
Minimum of 1 year experience directly with the assigned operational team
Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
Experience using common measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
Able to work with minimal supervision
Good problem solving skills
Lean and 5S knowledge desired
Knowledge and understanding of GD&T
Knowledge and understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 standard
Some customer interface experience preferred
Computer skills a plus: Microsoft office products, Infor IQM, and Agile business systems
