UCLA Health Biodesign Innovation Hub Coordinator in Los Angeles, California


The Biodesign Grant Administrator will

provide support to the UCLA Biodesign Program and associated activities to

advance healthcare innovation and research. In this role you will manage

milestone-driven projects in UCLA Biodesign innovation pipeline, such as the

Biodesign Fellowship, Faculty, Hub for MedTech and Digital Health, and capstone

research projects; oversee grant management processes including project

management, editing and grant writing, organizing and planning of grant

management; provide regular reports to senior leadership and will provide

strategic guidance regarding the biodesign program. The Biodesign Innovation Hub Coordinator for DGSOM is a role involving both strategic thinking and collaborative

partnerships with start-ups, industry, government and academic stakeholders. You

will manage projects across the innovation and research program and ensure that

they are delivered on time, on budget and that the final interactive deliverables

meet the grant requirements as well as DGSOM standards. You will be relied

upon to follow Project Management best practices, and will apply either

Waterfall or Agile project management methodology when appropriate. Developing

documentation throughout the project lifecycle is key to the success of this

position, as is supporting new department processes that will lead to increased

efficiency and efficacy.Supporting the

Biodesign Co-Directors and Core Team in outreach, engagement and training

development, deployment, and tracking, the Biodesign Grant Administrator will

serve as the contact with all 6 regional nodes and the respective stakeholders

and will coordinate and advertise events across the L.A. County Ecosystem. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, Master's Degree preferred* 5-7 years progressive grant management experience * Proficiency in MS Office, HTML CMS, and experience with Project Management Software* Experience with both Waterfall and Agile Project Management Methodology* Ability to effectively manage multiple grants simultaneously* Experience with Web-based initiatives of all sizes, particularly with healthcare-related projects* Experience developing and maintaining a full range of project documentation, including project plans, functional requirements, communications plans and project status reports* Ability to manage a cross-functional team, including remote contributors, creative contributors, including understanding of creative terminology and asset types across multiple media types and experience managing these individuals for time, scope, and budget* Working knowledge of grant application processes
