Global Operations exists to give people the power to build community on our platforms, by making sure they have the best and most secure experiences possible. People on our three Global Operations teams help Facebook understand our global communities’ expectations and shape products and tools to meet their needs. These three teams are:Trust & Safety Operations: Teams in Trust & Safety Operations help keep people safe on our platforms and around the world through predictable and consistent enforcement experiences. We make sure the processes we build benefit everyone who uses our platforms.Scaled Operations: Our Scaled Operations teams provide the human expertise needed for the safety and integrity of our community and business. We are responsible for effectiveness, efficiency, and well-being of our global workforce.Functional Operations: Our Functional Operations teams help all teams within Operations work as efficiently and effectively as possible. We build and customize tools, help teams anticipate and respond to risks, and drive standards in instrumentation and management.We are looking for driven Interns to work within one of our three teams to take their passion for understanding our users’ experience, and translate it into actionable results to improve our products. From your desire to create consistent experiences on our platforms, you’ll help ensure our users are supported at scale. Those who join our teams are very passionate about solving issues, and are strong advocates for the Facebook community. We need influencers who can align cross-functional partners both internally and externally to ensure the best possible experience on our platforms. We value people who can strategically drive the team using macro-level insights, think through risks, all while still caring for micro-level cases affecting people around the globe. Successful candidates for this role have strong critical thinking, leadership, and problem-solving skills, can navigate ambiguity and are always looking for strategic opportunities to improve how systems and processes work.The ideal candidate will have demonstrated the ability to navigate situations of cross-functional partnerships on mission critical operational issues spanning policy, product, user operations, engineering, and other interdependent teams.
Cultivate relationships and collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape, support, and execute product or project goals
Identify and share insights and learnings to develop scalable solutions
Use problem solving skills to resolve large and complex business problems
Support new ideas through experimentation, ad hoc analytics, and framework development
Apply solid judgement regarding support needs across multiple competing priorities
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, an MBA degree
2+ years project management or program management experience
Experience prioritizing among conflicting demands
Experience working independently and taking initiative
Experience analyzing and solving problems
Experience working both independently and in team environments
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
Knowledge of statistical analysis and data tools
Experience with Excel
3+ years of work experience in business strategy or consulting
3+ years experience in a project management, management consulting, or similar strategic role
3+ years of work experience in role involving strategic/analytical initiatives (project management, operations, consulting experience, data analysis or technical systems)
Experience in a rapidly changing tech or startup environment
Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
