Neural Analytics Senior Mechanical Engineer in Los Angeles, California

NovaSignal Corp. is a Los Angeles-based medical robotics startup developing and commercializing technologies to measure and track brain health. The company?s technologies integrate ultrasound, robotics and machine learning to empower neurologists with critical information about brain health to make clinical decisions and improve patient outcomes.

Summary of Position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will design the next generation robotic ultrasound medical device. In this role, you will be working with a cross-functional team to prototype, design, test, and validate that the product is ready for market This position will rapidly create designs in CAD and are comfortable with designing and testing robotic sub-assemblies and electromechanical devices. This position has experience working in a regulated consumer robotics industry, who has completed multiple product development cycles from early feasibility stages to commercialization.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and test new robotic and electromechanical products, parts, and sub-assemblies

  • Work with suppliers to produce high quality parts

  • May be asked to manage multiple tasks, sustaining as well as NPD

  • Engineering analysis, characterization testing, and regression analysis

  • Issue investigation and root cause analysis

  • Reports and other engineering documentation required as part of an FDA regulated industry

  • Lead and participate in cross-functional and technical design reviews

  • Develop and verify test fixtures and protocols

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering

  • 7+ years working in a regulated consumer electronics industry

  • Robotics preferred

  • FDA regulated industry experience preferred

  • Comfortable using CAD Software (SolidWorks preferred)

  • Comfortable interpreting and creating mechanical drawings using GD&T

  • Experience working in a regulated consumer robotics industry, who has completed multiple product development cycles from early feasibility stages to commercialization.

  • Experiences in all phases of product development

  • Experience designing a product for medium to high volumes (DFM / DFA)

  • Experience with a wide range of manufacturing processes

  • Capable of multi-tasking and completing tasks on time without compromising quality.

  • Must be self-motivated, solution driven, and able to work independently.

  • Must be an excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills.
