The Services Insights team is chartered to enable positive business outcomes by driving right behaviors and decisions through bold insights. This team understands the business goals, strategic drivers, success outcomes and associated behaviors, leading to the findings and insights needed to support the business outcomes. You will partner to meet a spectrum of demand across insights, analytics, decision-boards & scorecards.

Business Analytics Initiatives Lead

We are looking for seasoned Analytics Lead who will combine business strategy & digital vision and programmatic execution to enable and accelerate the data-driven transformation of Services division across the business lifecycle. This role will spearhead several initiatives enabling business model transformation through structured changes to reporting ecosystem. It will be responsible to lead the next generation BI platform, architect the BI and analytics integration, synthesize, merge and transform the existing BI & reporting capabilities, partner with other engineering teams and organizations to enable a world class support experience and rich insights.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Drive complex initiatives impacting reporting/analytics ecosystem

  2. Lead thorough business impact assessment of each initiative and workstream therein, with the lens of unlocking business value through the modernization of data platforms/architecture and simplification of insights ecosystem

  3. Enable all stakeholders and leaders on prioritizing on the initiatives/workstreams/features based on business continuity and business value dimensions. Partner with stakeholders to frame, shape and execute on the critical insights for business decisions

  4. Engage broadly with multiple teams to frame, structure and prioritize business problems where insights can have the biggest impact

  5. Synthesize, merge and transform the existing reporting/analytics capabilities with new experiences. Lead the next generation analytics experiences as a self-serve capability

  6. Drive end to end planning for the prioritized workstreams, integrating changes across the fragmented data platforms and data models across the ecosystem

  7. Lead the Design phase of workstreams and drive intentional simplification across reporting/analytics footprint

  8. Drive the programmatic execution of prioritized workstreams in an agile manner. Ensure no business disruption through the execution and landing.

  9. Create and manage standards, processes and procedures to ensure agile delivery and consistent operations

  10. Setup and drive multi-tiered governance process across prioritized work efforts, bringing all the design/engineering leads together.

  11. Govern and guide the vendor partner team(s), as necessary on the expertise, execution and partnership value for maximal impact

  12. Setup ongoing triage and rules of engagement with insight teams, supporting various functions, to drive the ongoing evolution of business in a consistent manner with the initiative’s charter/scope

  13. Review and connect on the prioritization of business needs for the teams to ensure a consistent funnel of requirements for operational data store, data lake, data mart, data pipelines and other assorted reporting/distribution services

  14. Ensure consistent orchestration with groups outside of Services Insights, collaborating with Process, Tools, Landing, Engineering teams for aligned work effort

  15. Drive the adoption with the intended personas to realize the business value

Qualifications

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 12+ years of experience in managing and/or running large scale and complex programs with focus on BI & Analytics Experience building and operationalizing complex, large scale, highly available BI experiences

  • Experience in full development lifecycle of an Analytics platform

  • Strong experience to partner with design/architecture/engineering teams with a strong bias for data platforms and reporting ecosystem. Experience building and operationalizing complex, large scale, highly available BI experiences

  • Proven track record of shipping highly scalable and reliable systems through multiple cycles

  • Strong knowledge of program, process, and change management techniques; structured approaches to problem solving, decision making, and business strategy

  • Proven track record of delivering complex multi -year programs through lifecycles

  • Experience in leading insights & analytics related engagements and partnering with teams that build complex analytical models.

  • Strong business acumen across a professional services organization. Broad business acumen with the ability to translate abstract thoughts into understandable messages for wider consumption

  • Hands on creation of project management deliverables. Strong OneNote, PowerPoint and Excel skills are a must

  • Exceptional influence without authority and excellent collaboration skills

  • Ability to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and subject matter experts. Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of relationship building.

  • Able to deal with ambiguity: can effectively cope with change; can shift gears comfortably; can decide and act without having the total picture; can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Information Systems (or equivalent)

Location/Travel – You will be based in Issaquah, WA near Microsoft HQ. You can expect limited global travel, less than 10%.
