Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other technical related field or equivalent practical experience
10 years of project management experience
Experience with technical subjects and emerging technologies
Experience working with technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Experience leading large complex programs at a major technology/engineering company
Experience working in a research organization
Experience and commitment to managing, developing, growing, recruiting and inspiring a representative, equitable, respectful team and workplace
Knowledge and expertise in one or more sectors of education and/or technical training
Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills, including ability to lead change efforts through effective communication and persuasion

As the Director, Engineering Education, engEdu for Research, you will develop innovative systems, content, and processes to enable high-quality education at scale. You will join a community of experienced software engineers, technical program managers, tech writers, user experiencers, and product managers dedicated to advancing technical abilities at Google and beyond to prepare the world’s workforce for the jobs of the future. We have an opportunity to expand the scope and innovate on how we deliver the right education to every Google engineer at the right time.
You will be working with a collaborative team, passionate about their work and the ability to change people’s lives through high-quality education and training. You will be asked to respond to the company’s mandate to develop content and deliver it seamlessly in order to build the most effective and highly trained engineering workforce in the world. Located within Google Research and reporting to the Director of engEDU, you will also be located in one of the few product groups which operates horizontally across Google, providing you with a unique vantage point in the company.

Develop and maintain a knowledge graph for engineering education, reflecting the needs from different product areas, across engineering tenure and level.
Develop and run a validation process that ensures our engineering training programs and topics are always aligned with Google’s evolving needs.
Develop, run, and innovate training delivery: programs, online self-study, in-person, and in-the-job training.
Build partnerships across Google to ensure alignment with product group-specific priorities and activities (e.g. with Core and Developer Relations), and to expand our training customer base within Google.
Expand the engEDU brand among Google engineers to become the first port of call for technical skill development, and expand this beyond Google.
