Advanced Analytics Consultant (Enterprise HEDIS Team)
Location: Work from Home or any Anthem Office
The Quality Data Management Team ensures the collection, production, analysis and reporting of HEDIS measures and related data. This team is also responsible for a number of clinical data analytics platforms and accompanying statistical models. The ideal candidate will drive optimizations, expansion, and enhancements of HEDIS reporting, measure improvement, and our clinical analytics platforms.
Responsibilities include (1) targeting improved quality and health outcomes using computational statistics; (2) modeling clinical events from multiple sources of data; (3) synthesizing new information into the larger analytics platform; (4) designing and implementing efficient systems and organizational models; (5) aide other team members and business partners in analytic and report development.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Lead multidisciplinary efforts to design and efficiently implement analytic and reporting stratagems.
Leverage algorithmic modeling and statistical learning techniques including linear and logistic modeling, NN, NLP, etc.
Perform in-depth analysis on operational and specific clinical issues
Write SQL code for data analysis, expansion and maintenance of our clinical data platform and datasets.
Communicate clearly with non-technical staff and decision makers in both presentations and through the use of visualization tools.
Demonstrate a willingness to problem solve, collaborate, and think creatively to further server our partners.
Provides analytical insights to support business solution development based on quality, use, cost and other key drivers; develops and refines analysis templates for problem diagnosis and opportunities assessment
Consults on all considerations related to designing and executing tests or pilot programs
Contributes to the design of new program/initiative based on test/pilot outcomes
Develops targeting criteria or customer segmentation based on analytical insights, clinical inputs, product design and operations considerations
Develops predictive models and other tools that help target the right members
Develops methodology to measure clinical, utilization and financial outcomes of a program/initiative
Conducts in-depth research to address challenging issues in measuring outcomes
Addresses limitation of certain data sources and evaluates incremental value of new data sources.
Requires Graduate-level degree with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Epidemiology, Engineering, Computer Science or Operations Research ; 5-10 years experience in related health care analytics; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. PhD preferred. Experience with developing expert modeling system for segmentation/stratification that supports customized strategies for different customer segments in a major industry highly desirable - healthcare, financial, database/direct marketing, online retails, consulting, etc. Substantial analytical experience in healthcare industry preferred. 5-10 years of SQL coding expereince. Familiarity with relational database environments such as MS SQLServer, Teradata, Oracle, and experience in distributed environments like Hadoop. Familiarity with probabilistic coding in python or R. Advanced Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture. Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms. Comfortable with strategic decision-making. HEDIS measure experience preferred.
