The RD Laboratory Technician will demonstrate initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and proper procedures while assisting and supporting the laboratorybased investigations by undertaking a range of technical and experimental tasks. TheTechnician will be performing a variety of wet chemistry techniques as well as basic microscopy for sample inspections on a routine basis including work in a cleanroom laboratory environment. A majority of the responsibilities will be focused on making solutions,conducting chemical analyses experiments to develop new knowledge, materials processes requiring strong background in chemistry. The Technician is expected toprovide regular updates/reports of measurements, trials, tests, results and analysis. The position will require communication and collaboration between Managers, Scientists, Engineers Technicians from the RD Team to accomplish tasks in an efficient and timely manner.

A Day in the Life
This individual will support research and development of new material coatings/prototypes, processes characterization testing in RD laboratories cleanroom environmentsunder the direction of senior scientists and engineers to advance key projects in next generation Continuous Glucose Monitoring. This individual will work on experimental design, conduct or coordinate experiments with direct guidance, though expected to be proactive in problem solving, independent in way of thought and contribute to ideas when situations are called upon; demonstrate a good understanding of and participate in developing technical protocols and procedures and good documentation practices. The Technician will execute technical procedures following protocols and various instrumentations, perform quality control tests, conduct post-test inspections of devices/prototypes, record and report data while maintaining accountability responsibility for ones work throughout these activities.There will be communication to management on a recurring basis and the individual must have the ability to effectively convey updates through email, verbal communication and team meetings.
This individual will also assist with inventory, shipping receiving; maintain clean and safe lab environment in compliance to environment, health, and safety policies and orders; maintain, and appropriately dispose of lab supplies, consumables, and chemicals.
Buffer/formulations/solution making including performing solids/molarity calculations, weighing, measuring, and mixing chemicals.
Experience using laboratory tools such as pH meters, centrifuges, micro pipettes, weighing balances etc
Experience in the operation of microscopy equipment instrumentation such as UV-VIS.
Keeps equipment functional by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining equipment and supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
Basic computer skills good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is required
Help establish new test methods work with Engineers on creating custom fixtures.
Able to work independently, demonstrate good judgment in investigating problems possess good math aptitude
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivelant
Minimum of 4 years of experience of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
Nice to Have
College coursework or Undergraduate Degree in the Sciences
Chemistry background in either professional or academic experience
Experience in analytical chemistry methods including HPLC, GC etc
Coating/material deposition processes/ Instrumentation (spray, spin, dip etc)
Demonstrated computer skills and experience in Microsoft Excel including creating spreadsheets, editing spreadsheets, and performing simple calculations/manipulation of data in spreadsheets.
Basics statistics knowledge
Experience working with biologics drug formulations
Exposure to organic synthesis; polymer or small molecules
Material characterization techniques including DSC, rheology
Experience with documentation of work, protocols and testing (Ex. laboratory notebooks, reports, IQ/OQ/PQs, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.).
Familiarity with biochemical/colorimetric assays

Able to lift 25 pounds.
Able to work in a moderately noisy environment.
Work in environment with lasers and UV light, chemicals, and Bio Hazard materials.
