The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for providing support to management of Frontwave Credit Union in maintaining operations, developing growth strategies, and promoting new business opportunities through research and analysis. This position will be instrumental in the construction and gathering of current and historical data sets, metrics and reports and the development of dashboards and insights for the credit union. In addition, this person will actively partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop innovative solutions and insights using data and analysis tools.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following non-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. All duties are to be performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations as well as Credit Union policies and procedures.
Gather, manipulate and analyze disparate data. Use database query techniques, spreadsheet software and other platforms to provide management with statistics, forecasts, and analysis. This is a “roll up your sleeves and dig into the data/findings” position.
Analyze application, production and performance data and conducts root cause analysis in order to evaluate, compare and identify possible trends and solutions aimed at recommending action to improve current practices and processes, determine best practices and solve issues related to business unit operations
Produce production and performance reports. Analyzes discrepancies in existing reports and makes recommendations for updates.
Responsible for development of technical solutions needed in order to provide an effective and efficient data and analysis solution that can support the credit union.
Meets with various departments and stakeholders to determine reporting needs and creates processes for data collection where necessary.
Develops and maintains various databases and data warehouse sources throughout the credit union.
Communicate meaningful insights into data and model results to senior and executive management in a non-technical manner. Perform data preparation, statistical model framework design, estimation, performance and diagnostic testing, implementation, and ongoing monitoring to predict and/or optimize desired objectives from business stakeholders.
Conduct assessments of models and provide reports detailing the current state of data feeds, rule output at current settings, and alert outputs at alternative settings.
Identify potential logic deficiencies in model outputs through cross validation of external analyses
Assist with the identification, evaluation, and development of controls to mitigate risk and operational impacts.
Assist with data integrity and validation testing on projects including software implementations, operational enhancements related to efficiency gains, and other special projects as needed including the coordination of software updates in collaboration with the Credit Union’s IT
Department and or other departments.
Maintain business definitions in the form of a data dictionary for all department managed models.
Prepare reports in a manner that is clear and comprehensible to management, internal auditors and regulatory examiners.
Communicate production issues with key stakeholders such as business lines, management team, and the IT Department.

Minimum of two years working with data modeling, software implementation, enhanced reporting analytics or related experience preferably with a financial institution.
Advanced experience in PC literacy and understanding of computer software and applications used to support data analytics and report development such as Crystal Reports, iDashboards, Tableau, Power BI, or Jaspersoft
Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), data warehouse mining techniques, and business intelligence tools
Strong database skills, including working with advanced data sets, pivot tables, advanced database and statistical functions and methods
Strong analytical skills including analysis, data collection, process mapping and troubleshooting for root cause
General understanding of programming, database design and development, data sources and data feeds used to populate reports.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in related field, including Data Science, Communications, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Analysis or Economics is required.
Master’s degree a plus. 1-2 years business intelligence, report gathering and data manipulation experience.
Financial Services Industry preferred.
Strong demonstrable experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires strong analytical skills and experience. Experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
