Nestle 3rd Shift Team Lead in Ontario, California
Team Lead will be assigned to oversee daily production performance of the team
Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting all positions on the production line, and can fill in for break relief or calls offs as needed.
Assist operators, mechanics, and QA to meet factory safety, line efficiencies, productivity, and quality requirements.
Oversee daily operation to meet production needs, targets and deadlines.
Perform and promote continuous training of personnel.
Facilitate changeovers as needed on Production lines.
Perform emergency repairs and adjustments during operations.
Work with production line owners and maintenance team to plan, organize, and lead PMs on equipment to minimize equipment downtime
Oversee housekeeping standards in the facility.
Support Production team for breaks, lunches, sick days, etc.
Participation in Line Performance Reviews and driving timely completion of actions.
Communication to Leadership Team and adhering to the escalation process related to Safety, Quality, and Production breakdowns.
Ensure production team members meet quality standards at all times, and coach as appropriate.
Support the development of the Safety culture.
Ensure SHO (shift hand over) boards up to date daily, SHO audits, escalation process followed.
Facilitate/Coach operators in problem solving activities for root cause analysis in preparation for the Daily Operations Review.
EIT & SAM Accuracy during shift and SAM data uploaded into SAP for confirmations.
Process Improvement leader on floor including proactive coaching on safety, quality, production and cost.
Problem solving to support equipment improvements by means of TPM tools (CIL, Centerlines, GSTD, etc)
Support Proactive Safety measures such as monitoring adherence to SBOs and SkillSoft expectations
Develop Standards and SOPs
Lead/support monthly Line Loss meetings
Unload and inspect raw materials as needed
Provide break relief to Production Technicians
Supply raw materials to lines
Perform quality checks and interpret quality data
Read and use manual diagrams
Utilize mathematics (multiplication, division, averages, and percentage calculations)
Comply with sanitation standards and keep area clean according to GMPs
Good communication skills to maintain a winning attitude with all team members
Operate a forklift as needed
All other duties as assigned
Key qualifications include:
High school diploma or GED; additional technical training or certifications desired.
Must have knowledge and experience in Production environment or previous experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, CANNING/BOTTLING A PLUS
Strong computer, mechanical and troubleshooting skills
Preferred skills: forklift driving / certification
Some knowledge / experience in water processing activities (RO units, low ozone system, mineral skids, chemical inventories, and micron filters)
Solid computer skills, including the use of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook and enterprise management software (SAP).
Experience with CMMS or ERP systems needed, SAP experience preferred.
Have the ability to Lead and develop others.
Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
Ability and drive to learn water processing functions
Solid problem solving and decision making skills with the ability to coach others.
Willingness and ability to work in a facility with minimal temperature control, exposed to local temperature variations (hot & cold).
Must be flexible in working hours - Willingness to work holidays, overtime and weekends as we are a 24/7 facility operating through most weekends and holidays.
Completion of a skills assessment with a satisfactory rating.
