St. Joseph Health / Covenant Health Wound Care RN - Enterostomal Therapy in Orange, California
We are looking for a Wound Care Registered Nurse for our Enterostomal Therapy Unit at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange.
Location: Orange, CA
The Wound Care Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides patient care services for patients with fecal and urinary diversions, acute and chronic wounds, drains, pressure injuries, peristomal skin issues, and skin issues as defined by the Wound Ostomy and Continence (WOCN) Organization. Functions independently in both acute and patient care settings and outpatient services. The Wound Care RN also serves in a consultative and educational role for medical and nursing staff, and education role for the professional and lay community.
Must have current knowledge and demonstrate the ability to apply principles and skills as a Certified Wound Ostomy nurse.
Be able to work effectively under pressure by prioritizing work activities or renegotiating deadlines.
Be able to communicate effectively in English.
Possess basic computer skills
Be able to give constructive feedback when teaching patients and staff.
Maintain a positive attitude with changing conditions.
Seek out available resources to resolve problems.
Apply appropriate interventions and follow up on identified projects.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience: 2-3 years acute care clinical experience.
Licensure / Certification:
Current California Registered Nurse license
Certificate as Certified Wound, Ostomy nurse (WOCN) by Wound, Ostomy, Continence Certification Board (WOCN-CB)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Position Requirements:
Education: Master in Science in Nursing (MSN)
Experience: Minimum of one year as WOCN
Licensure / Certification: Continence Certification by the WOCN-CB
