Aerotek Electrical Engineer in Pasadena, California


The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for schematic capture, pcb layout, circuit analysis as well as supporting testing of hardware development. Responsibilities include supporting projects through all phases of development, component selection, defining electrical requirements and working closely with firmware, fpga & software teams.


  • Electrical/Electronic design

  • Supporting projects through all phases of development

  • Component selection including but not limited to motors, instrumentation and control

  • Generating fabrication documentation and vendor specifications

  • Proactively identify roadblocks to technical progress and take steps to mitigate

  • Define electrical requirements for engineering and/or qualification units and oversee build and test of these units

  • Review test data and recommend changes to products and/or processes

Required Experience, Skills and Education:

  • BSEE 4 -7+ /MSECE 2 - 5+ years Electrical Engineering experience in the areas of electromechanical systems, digital/Embedded systems, or Electronic Design.

  • Aerospace industry experience is a plus, ideally with flight design experience.

  • Familiar with IPC J-STD-001 and / or NASA 8739.4 a plus

  • Proficient in circuit analysis.

  • Experience designing test environments to measure thermocouples, RTDs, accelerometers, or load cells

  • Experienced with Altium schematic capture and PCB layout tool or equivalent.

  • Experienced with Microsoft Visio or similar tool.

  • Proficient with using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and LCR meters.

  • Experience in FPGA/MCU development, ideal platforms: ARM MCUs, Xilinx/Microsemi FPGAs.

  • Familiar with Python, C, and C++ Ability to work in a fast paced “faster, better, cheaper” environment.

  • Detail oriented with an emphasis on design documentation and summary report generation.
