In this role, responsibilities include handling all aspects of home loan servicing from member service contact to processing mortgage loan payoffs. The successful candidate will be able to provide outstanding service to our members, have strong problem solving skills and handle themselves professionally internally and externally.
Perform tasks associated with member requests. Including but not limited to; check processing, corresponding with members, set up, cancel and change payment methods, processing payments, payoffs and payment reversals.
Set up and cancel escrow accounts.
Ability to explain payment history for all mortgage types including Home Equity Line of Credit.
Understand, review and explain escrow account analysis letters to members regarding overages and shortages.
Process Disbursements for payment of taxes, insurance, and private mortgage insurance.
Process Demands, Reconveyances, Subordinations and ability to understand chain of title.
Maintain accurate records of insurance and taxes on all real estate loans and ensure daily balancing.
Research, correct and update assigned exception reports.
Understanding and ability to explain ARM rate change process and Home Equity Line of Credit interest calculation to members.
Process loan audits and post-closing tasks
Speak professionally with members on the phone, document systems and complete task as requested by the member.
Work with other teams to resolve member issues.
Ability and willingness to train others on learned responsibilities
Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
One to three years related Loan Service experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, and common fractions and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must have basic accounting principles and able to apply to everyday responsibilities.
Have excellent computer skills MS Windows and MS Office (Word & Excel)
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos, with the ability to write correspondence.
Ability to multi-task and keep desk responsibilities organized.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to read, write and understand department procedures.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to deal professionally with customers, peers and other Credit Union employees.
May be responsible for obtaining and maintaining notary public commission.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to members and other employees of the organization.
