Title: Network Site Reliability Engineer
Duration: 6 Month Extendable Contract (Potential to convert full time)
Our client is looking for an SRE-minded network engineer to help continue driving their growing GCP partnership and infrastructure. Their current team is predominately traditional network engineers who lack automation + coding background so this role will take on a mentorship role and be a key contributor to a team of 12.
Top Skills Details:
CI/CD deployment in GCP
Coding-Python or GoLang
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of relevant work experience in Network design/ Operations and Automation.
Automation/ development in python/JS with a focus on networking in Cloud.
Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, and open source technologies.
Experience with Automation of Network & Security Virtual Appliance deployment in GCP
Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience with scaling network management systems, building dev-ops tools for hybrid networks.
Automate & Implement Network in cloud environment utilizing Cloud Native Network and Security services
Implement 3rd party Virtual devices (e.g. Arista, Cisco CSRs, Palo Alto Firewalls) in AWS / GCP to close gaps where cloud-native solutions are not meeting company requirements.
Experience leveraging standards-based solutions and enabling open source technologies.
Ability to effectively communicate, navigate ambiguity, define the scope, and address complexity.
Experience with google technologies like golang, grpc a plus.
GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer Certification a plus.
Build network infrastructure as a code using Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes
Manage CICD pipelines, configuration, automation tools for infrastructure provisioning.
Write and maintain runbooks for knowledge-driven automated processes and bots.
Do capacity planning based on performance, usage, and utilization stats.
Partner with engineering teams to automate the observability, availability and scalability of our network in the cloud and on-prem.
Ensure network availability and business continuity by implementing a redundant network.
Manage after-hours infrastructure updates and maintenance.
Proactively research and propose the use of new concepts, processes, technologies, and tools.
Proactive monitoring, diagnosis, and resolution of issues in a 24x7 of multi-cloud environment (AWS/GCP), analyze failures, and provide support for engineers to debug production issues across microservices and distributed platforms.
Follow SRE best practices and procedures.
