CLASS CONCEPT: Under general supervision, develops and implements information technology systems solutions to address business needs; and performs other related duties as required. The IT Business Systems Analyst II is the journey level classification in the IT Business Systems Analyst series and reports to a supervisory or manager level position. Incumbents perform the full range of duties requiring a greater technical knowledge with little supervision or guidance. The IT Business Systems Analyst II is distinguished from the IT Business Systems Analyst I in that the latter is the entry-level and receives initial training in the techniques and procedures essential to the duties performed. This class is further distinguished from the IT Business Systems Analyst III in that the latter requires incumbents to lead an IT staff, perform the most complex assignments, and use master-level technical and analytical skills. Advancement to the next level is obtained by competitive selection through an open recruitment.


(Depending on the area of assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to, the following)

• Conduct systems analysis and design of business processes involving evaluation of current and proposed information and business process flow, available and emerging technology hardware and software, and cost/benefits. • Analyze projects; document new organizational processes; generate reports for management on new technology. Develop and document user requirements from end-user input for new and/or existing systems, business processes, and applications. • Select and recommend software or hardware based on systems analysis, evaluation of product and vendors. • Create requests for proposal (RFPs) or requirement specifications and evaluate proposal submissions. • Implement new or modified processes and systems by performing design, application development, installation, and testing. • Modify software; customize business applications and interfaces. • Coordinate and communicate with end users, management, staff, and vendors on project issues and status. • Develop project work plans and schedules and monitor project resources including staff time, vendor work, and finances. • Prepare project documents, requirements, reports, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, and quality assurance and control standards. • Maintain, support, and administer software applications. • Provide customer support, training, and problem analysis for software applications. RECRUITING GUIDELINES:

Education: Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university, preferably with coursework in computer science, computer information systems, data processing, information management, or a related field to the assignment. (Additional qualifying IT job-related experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of 30 semester or 45 quarter units equaling one year of full-time experience). Experience: Two years of IT job-related experience, preferably with the client. Knowledge of: The principles, methods, and techniques used in the course of work for the IT Business Systems Analyst series; principles and techniques applied to IT devices, applications and systems; principles of organization and administration; principles of documentation and recordkeeping, storage and retrieval. Ability to: Gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; resolve technical problems and innovate more efficient use of IT resources; perform systems analysis work and problem solving; interpret and follow written and oral instructions; prepare concise reports and documents; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers, other employees, and the public; communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels.

Required IT-Related Skills:

Systems analysis theory, processes and techniques; project spec development; application design; writing and modifying technical and user documentation; data modeling techniques; prepare flow process diagrams and other design graphics; application of industry or client standards and conventions for systems analysis and quality assurance; installation, testing and migration process and techniques; quality and version control processes; use of packaged or off-the-shelf and third party application software including office automation tools.

Preferred IT-Related Skills: Internal consulting with clients at various levels of the organization; writing code and scripts; writing process descriptions; work with client server environments.

Job duties: coordination of Vaccination Sites, evaluation of vaccination workflows and business processes

Min Qualification: completion of at least 30 semester units and 2 years of IT related experience

Skills: Proficient in MS Office, project management, systems analysis

Work Schedule: 5/40- M-F; could possibly change with the demand for Covid Vaccines
