Bank of American Business Capital (“BABC”), a market leading asset-based lending (“ABL”) group and a unit of Wholesale Credit, is seeking ajuniorBusiness Development Officer (“BDO”) to join its Northern California team to cover San Francisco Bay area and surrounding central and northern California areas. BABC provides senior secured lending solutions to support organic and acquisition growth, M&A, recapitalizations, turnarounds, DIPs, etc. for middle market and large corporate companies.
The BDO’s role is to source new business opportunities, and lead deal teams that analyze relevant information, prepare required documents and close financing transactions. In addition to directly calling on prospective clients, the BDO will i) develop internal (i.e. GCB, GCIB and GIB) and external (i.e. accountants, consultants, direct credit providers, investment banks and private equity groups) referral source networks within their assigned markets, and ii) assist Senior BDOs in the region with the screening process on new opportunities. The BDO is required to travel and visit prospects and referral sources.
The BDO should be a team player who works respectfully with BABC colleagues, as well as internal and external partners.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Three+ years of experience in ABL Lending (preferable), Commercial Banking, Private Debt Lending, or Investment Banking.
Series 7 and 63 (if not currently licensed, must be achieved within 180 days of start date).
Current or previous calling business development experience in northern California.
Completion of a bank credit training program.
Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or related area are preferable, but not a requirement.
