Industry Leader - Strategy and Go To Market, Global Public Sector Public Safety and Law Enforcement
We are looking for an innovative leader for our GTM Industries, Global Public Sector Team. This executive will lead/drive our enterprise positioning and solution strategy for Global Public Sector with a focus around Public Safety and Law Enforcement. This is a senior leader with a successful track record building, leading, and delivering strategic transformation programs in support of public safety/law enforcement, either as a government official or industry partner.
The role is a mix of thought leadership, strategy, program execution, planning and partner engagement. This executive is a natural evangelist who has: developed and operated global public sector strategies and programs; proven leadership experience to drive engagement and adoption; an extensive executive level network/references; collaborates with public sector partners; driven industry thought leadership around digital solutions and how they are applied in the global public sector today.
Serve as a thought leader and brand ambassador, through speaking and publishing opportunities. Define and create public sector-specific collateral and thought leadership pieces including white papers, data sheets, and social media posts
Advise the Global Public Sector Business Unit to drive greater internal understanding of, and alignment with customers. Provide strategic coaching and assistance to Sales leadership and account teams based on Public Safety and Law Enforcement expertise, including relevant laws and policies, customer business processes and mission goals, regulatory issues, and decision-making processes
Support and Enable Launch for Scalable Go-to-Market efforts, in collaboration with Global Public Sectors shared services teams
Develop and deliver industry-specific sales enablement tools and programs including presentations and videos
Collaborate with Sales and all other support functions to execute against the primary focus of creating opportunities and closing revenue to over-achieve on company quota objectives
Define and support awareness through public sector marketing initiatives including conferences, trade shows, seminars and web seminars
Collaborate with alliance and partner teams to build and develop key relationships with solution and implementation partners in global Public Sector
Act as a Global Public Sector domain expert with analyst firms, industry trade press, events, trade organizations, etc.
Develop and execute a vertical go-to-market plan including sales, sales enablement, marketing, alliances, and internal and external communitiesProvide direct deal support, industry expertise and strategy in industry-specific sales opportunitiesDefine and create industry-specific collateral and thought leadership pieces including white papers, data sheet
Demonstrated deep expertise in public sector Public Safety and Law Enforcement, policy and operations
Strong executive presence and an ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leadership
Exceptional written and oral communication, and presentation skills
Strong ability to lead cross-functional programs in support of a combined go-to-market launch plan
Self-starter comfortable working in a start-up paced software company
Strong customer orientation and results driven leader
Strong understanding of Salesforce products
Deep capability to build coalitions and work effectively in highly matrixed environments, developing trusted relationships and exercising leadership through influence
Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to structure complex problems, develop hypotheses, and present well-supported solutions
15-20 years Public Sector State & Local experience
Undergraduate degree, advanced degree preferred
Hands on leader, “get it done” operating style
Proven ability in having led organizational transformation projects and large-scale change management efforts
Ability to influence across a broad spectrum of individuals and functions
Outstanding leadership qualities and technical skills together with significant management experience and a strong commitment to service and accountability
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret financial data
Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible and innovative approach to operational management
Ability to engage and motivate teams
Passion, humility, integrity, mission-driven and self-directed
Very strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse team members and external parties

Proven experience as a team builder, a passion for delivering high quality service, deep interest in building strong relationships, a collaborative, decisive and flexible decision-making style, hands on orientation that pays attention to detail and the ability to lead organizational change
The individual will act as Salesforce’s ambassador and evangelist in the industry, driving awareness, demand, excitement about Salesforce and the potential for transformation and new success through our solutions. The individual will do this in collaboration with other teams such as Sales, Solutions Engineering, Alliances, Partners and leverage global / local thought leadership, use cases, demos and driving the digital transformation agenda with senior executives and / or key decision makers in the industry. We also expect this person to work closely with adjacent shared services teams (Sales programs, Marketing, Solution Engineering, Product and Partner Alliances) and sales leadership to drive key accounts activities, deal progressions, pipe generation, partner engagement and creation of a holistic ecosystem of capabilities and companies to drive customer success.
Leading without authority, influencing, collaboration and drive to win are key characteristics and traits of a successful candidate in addition to being able to speak the language of the customer.
You are a leader with industry domain expertise that has broad senior management relationships. You have a proven track record developing new industry go-to-market strategies, able to create sales assets, engage in direct senior management deal support, able to speak to analysts, partners and represent SFDC as the industry segment executive leader. You are a leader of Government Industry GTM team.
