Qualifications

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. GS 12: One year of specialized experience at least equivalent to a GS-11 Performance Auditor (Contract Audit Specialist) position which is in or directly related to contract auditing and program evaluation or assessment which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the positions. Examples may include: participating in auditing, examining, and/or reviewing auditees' accounts, records, documents, and other evidence; systems of internal controls; accounting, and general business practices and procedures; interpreting and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable laws and regulations to conduct reviews of portions of contracts or contractor activities; developing practical recommendations for improvement; and participating in meetings or conferences to present findings and justify recommendations. GS 13: One year of specialized experience at least equivalent to a GS-12 Performance Auditor (Contract Audit Specialist) position which is in or directly related to contract auditing and program evaluation or assessment which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the positions. Examples may include: auditing, examining, and/ or reviewing auditees' accounts, records, documents, and other evidence; systems of internal controls; and accounting, and general business practices and procedures ; interpreting and applying the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other applicable laws and regulations to conduct a more complex evaluation of a contractor's policies, procedures, controls and actual performance, identifying and evaluating all activities that contribute to, or have an impact on, proposed or incurred costs of government contracts. In addition to the above, you MUST have one of the below: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting; OR

Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge AND include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent). You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
