Sutter Health Post Doctoral Fellow-Research Institute in San Francisco, California
Position will focus on the biological basis and biomarkers for healthy aging and will participate in research taking advantage of large cohort studies of older adults as well as large translational research projects. Candidate will write proposals for new studies, analyze data, write and publish papers. Candidate should be comfortable using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and at least one major statistical package (SAS, Stata, etc.), and be able to communicate clearly in writing and speaking with scientific colleagues.
Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or Biology required
At least 1 year of experience working in clinical, translational, and/or epidemiologic research is required.
Experience in designing research studies is desired.
Areas of interest: Biological aging, the genetics of aging, and longevity.
Strong interest and background in clinical research, public health or epidemiological research;
Familiar with computational and data analysis.
Familiar with developing publications.
An interest in data pooling and technological infrastructure used to conduct research studies.
Can prepare manuscripts for publication.
Comfortable using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAS and Stata.
Able to prepare grant applications for career development (i.e. R or K awards).
Ability to analyze data with the aid of statisticians and programmers produces tables and figures.
