The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.

Wells Fargo Merchant Services specializes in providing solutions such as credit card, debit card, check guarantee, e-commerce, and gift cards to businesses of all sizes. WFMS is nationally recognized for its ingenuity and reputation as a leader in the electronics payments industry

The Business Support Consultant 3 consults and provides guidance on the development, implementation, and monitoring of significant matters regarding strategic approaches, effectiveness of support function, business performance improvement opportunities, and helping to manage the risks for the applicable business functions. Utilizes thorough knowledge of the business unit's functional area or products to support strategic initiatives for the business. Responsible for support functions and/or operations/production oversight usually for multiple business groups within a Line of Business. Functions supported may include: policy/procedure administration and adherence, systems/change initiatives, information security, business continuity planning, capacity planning, legal and regulatory adherence, SLA negotiation/development, reporting and analysis, project funding, pipeline, process improvement, quality management, third party management, communications, financial control/budgeting oversight. May present to executive management on business performance and recommend strategies to implement changes and improvements. May consult on process execution matters for risk policies/programs, business process risk/control assessment at process level. May conduct, execute, or manage: risk assessments, ad hoc reviews, quality activities, issue intake process, remediation process, and exam management. May provide work direction to lower level staff.

A Successful Candidate Will:

  • Create procedures for operational teams following corporate requirements and guidelines. Create and follow change management requirements. Lead evaluations of the adequacy and effectiveness of procedures. Develop and/or update user documentation and procedures that are compliant with corporate standards.

  • Participate in Issue resolutions and control review when necessary to ensure procedures are aligned.

  • Partner with various internal teams for proper storage and approvals of these documents.

  • Liaison with subject matter experts and business process owners to understand and document their business processes.

  • Drive communication strategy/plan to generate business awareness of the of updates.

  • Communicate in both written and verbal formats to small and large groups of users: in person presentations, leading conference calls, targeted and broad mass email communications, screen-sharing presentations.

  • Develop improvement approaches within businesses and across lines of business that are holistic and customer focused to understand business processes and workflow through Wells Fargo and identify and help prioritize new initiatives to drive business strategy, mitigate potential risks and control gaps, financial return, and/or positive customer impact.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ year of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services demonstrated through work or military experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to manage complex projects in a large enterprise environment

  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills

  • Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong root cause analysis skills

  • Experience developing, managing, and leading internal business communication strategies within a corporate environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience writing and creating process and procedural documentation, Technical Writing a plus

  • Demonstrated ability partnering with management to communicate effectively

  • Experience writing and creating materials to effectively communicate to multiple audiences from front line teammates to senior executives

  • Merchant Services Industry experience

  • SharePoint experience

  • Process definition and documentation experience

  • Experience in developing and implementing multi-channel communication campaigns

  • Experience developing, managing, and leading internal business communication strategies within a corporate environment

  • Strong familiarity and adherence to change control processes

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
