Department Overview - Data Intelligence
The Data Intelligence (DI) team is made up of data scientists, data engineers, visualization developers, and analysts who are dedicated to driving product strategy with data-driven insights. The DI team works with executives, product managers, designers, developers, user researchers, marketers, and sales strategy team members across all Cloud businesses to discover new opportunities for growth and optimization, experiment with data, drive adoption, and provide actionable insights that impact product strategy.
The Senior Analyst of the Data Intelligence team will report to the Senior Director of Strategy and Growth of the Data Intelligence team and will help shape Salesforce products with data-driven decisions and data products. This candidate will be responsible for working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to deliver insights based on data, recommend improvements, and conduct product adoption tests (A/B, Multivariate).
This role requires expert-level experience driving adoption growth and technical expertise in adoption tools, data mining, and visualization. This role also requires advanced communication skills to collaborate effectively in a large, matrixed environment, and a high level of comfort with public speaking and executive presentations.
Develop quantitative analysis, ad hoc reports, and models to support product decision-making.
Translate data insights into actions and recommendations that will drive product adoption, customer satisfaction, and investment decisions.
Partner with product leaders to understand business requirements, product direction, roadmaps, key metrics, and growth goals.
Identify, acquire, consolidate and manipulate data features from multiple sources including product log files, dimensional data, Salesforce objects, and external data sources to develop models and analyses, produce insights that will guide product strategy and investment decisions.
Partner with the data engineering team and product engineering team to instrument, acquire, develop and structure data assets that are critical to measuring the products.
Create KPIs based on knowledge of the Salesforce business, growth drivers, and industry benchmarks.
Design and implement reporting dashboards that track key metrics and performance trends, and provide actionable insights to product leadership.
Create visualizations, presentations, and executive summaries that clearly communicate findings to internal stakeholders and executives.
Explain complex modeling approaches in simple terms and develop compelling narratives that connect data analysis with business problems.
Use best-in-class methods to establish causal relationships between product decisions and customer behavior and sentiment.
Contribute to building the data-driven culture in Salesforce.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, computer science, economics, or a related quantitative field,
MBA or Management consulting experience is a plus.
5+ years of experience in data analysis.
Advanced expert in SQL. Experience with Splunk, Python/R, and BI tools.
Direct experience working with large data-sets, joining data from multiple sources and different levels of analysis.
Lover of math with solid understanding of statistical methods. Practical experience with statistical and machine learning models: ANOVA, multiple regression, decision trees, clustering analysis.
Experience leading data-driven projects from definition to execution, driving impact and influencing product and business roadmaps.
Communication and presentation experience with a proven track record of using insights to influence executives and colleagues, and presenting research data in a compelling manner that inspires action.
Expert in building relationships and collaborating in a matrixed environment, working effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations.
Curious, creative, opinionated thinker with a talent for detecting patterns and elevating through strategy.
Laser focused on impact, balancing effort to value, and getting things done.
Self-starter who is able to work effectively without excessive supervision.
