DLA Piper is seeking a transactional Franchise & Distribution associate or of counsel to join its practice in Chicago, Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles-Century City, Palo Alto or San Francisco offices. Ideal candidates will have 5 years of regulatory U.S. franchising experience. International franchise and M&A experience is also a plus. Experience with franchise law on the state and federal level; demonstrated transactional skills, including structuring, drafting, reviewing and negotiating sophisticated contracts; reviewing and understanding intricate regulations and statutes; and managing demanding complex multi-faceted transactions. Responsibilities will include drafting various franchise-related agreements and regulatory filings (e.g., franchise disclosure documents) and counseling domestic and international clients. Candidates should have a strong academic record, superior organizational, drafting, and analytical skills, and possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
