About the role

The Vice President, Creative Marketing serves as leader of Old Navy’s brand voice and creative expression. This leader will create and foster the aesthetic vision and voice for the brand with a deep understanding of the brand DNA and strategic vision. The role oversees the entire internal creative department and will be a dynamic creative leader who can lead a broad and diverse group of creative talent. They will foster a community of ideas and inspiration with an eye towards developing creative talent to enable growth within the team and for the brand. They will partner with cross-functional partners to develop big ideas, product stories and innovative marketing programs, to engage customers and capture Old Navy’s brand buzz. They own the creative expression across all vehicles/channels with a strong digital first orientation and understanding of how to develop meaningful creative content and commercial success.

What you'll do

  • Own and evolve the Old Navy brand vision and voice to consistently push the brand forward, always balancing the need to stay true to the brand’s DNA while able to continuously refresh the brand over time

  • Strong ability to continually elevate and differentiate the Old Navy brand, with an appreciation and understanding of the Old Navy customer and how to balance the commercial needs of the business

  • Lead and develop a growing world-class creative team—continually inspiring and pushing for creative innovation

  • Strategically push the creative integrity of all campaigns and deliverables to cement while meeting the business objectives with a modern, fresh creative approach

  • Drive brand campaign and seasonal campaign development, integration, and creative excellence across every customer touch point — site, email, digital media, social media, video, in-store marketing, packaging, promotions, Brand Engagement/PR, advertising (in partnership with advertising agencies)

  • Lead the department, campaign development and customer experience with a digitally first, omni channel mindset — an appreciation and passion for the evolving omni channel customer journey and impact on digital channel needs

  • Act as a key leader and collaborator on the Marketing Leadership team to balance the needs of driving of mass retail business that requires a large volume of creative concepts/assets, a fast-moving environment with multiple priorities

  • Build strong partnerships with design, merchandising, UX, and visual merchandising to help bring brand and product stories to life in an integrated way

  • Create clear priorities for the team, work to create streamlined processes and focus for the the team to continually improve the operations of the department

  • Lead the creative team at the brand owned photo studio with a vision for elevating product photography and integrating it across multiple consumer touch points

  • Partner with production team to manage creative development within established budgets and guidelines

Who you are

  • 15+ years’ experience in brand creative direction — both agency and in house experience a plus

  • Compelling portfolio of distinctive work that elevates a brand’s creative experience

  • A creative visionary — people are inspired by and excited to work with you

  • Inspirational leader with the ability to develop and coach highly talented, senior-level creative team members

  • Passion for bringing the democracy of style to life — balancing an elevated aesthetic while being commercially minded to drive a mass retail business

  • Deep knowledge and experience leading and working in a “digital first” marketing department

  • Decisive leader for the creative department and partner cross functional teams with the ability to galvanize these parties toward a cohesive, actionable plan

  • Ability to influence and be assertive across the organization particularly at the executive level

  • Proven strength managing large creative organizations that work in a fast moving environment with large volume deliverables

  • Exceptional presentation skills to visually and verbally communicate all ideas in the most impactful, clear and visually engaging way
