3D Process Engineer
Randstad is looking for a 3D Process Engineer for a revolutionary global medical device company that is changing lives through better smiles.
The 3D Process Engineer will study and optimize processes for 3D printing and post-processing of 3D printed parts. The ideal candidate for this role must be organized and methodical in their engineering approach as well as an excellent communicator.
Develop various fixtures/prototypes for 3D printing processes by collaborating with cross-functional resources including materials engineering, manufacturing engineering, product development, and software teams
Develop production protocols for technology transfer to manufacturing
Work with materials engineering team to optimizing various processes to achieve desired material properties
Work with product development team to incorporate new designs into 3D printing parts
Innovate on key 3D printing steps based on the product and business requirements
Conduct systematic root-cause analysis and sound design-of-experiment for process discovery and optimization
Define procedures to evaluate process capability and identify operating envelope
Coordinate meetings with other representatives from different departments to create better solutions and resolve issues
Work with external vendors effectively
Must be familiar with most new and emerging 3D printing technologies in the market
Communicate with professionals in the field at all levels and transition information into process improvement
Document test protocols in accordance with Align QMS and FDA regulations
Work in a fast paced environment and meet critical deadlines
Solve issues with attention to detail
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Knowledge of statistical analysis
Proficient in design of experiments and root cause analysis
Knowledge and hands-on experience in 3D printing processes is the key to this role.
BS, MS or PhD in chemical engineering, or material engineering or mechanical engineering. Other scientific disciplines considered or the equivalent years of experience.
5+ years of experience in 3D Printing Process and Operations.
3+ years working with Polymer Process.
