How will you make an impact?
- As Sr. Manager of the Clinical Systems Integration for the Clinical Genetic Testing Solutions Group in Thermo Fisher, you will lead system definition & system integration aspects of product development in collaboration with deeply knowledgeable, specialized engineers and scientists to develop instruments and applications for our world class qPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis, Rapid DNA, and Microarray platforms in both RUO and IVD markets. You will be building and managing a teams of scientists to develop processes and mechanisms that facilitate continual improvement of our products and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction for all released products.
What will you do?
Exercise judgement and experience in life sciences to understand customer needs and deliver products that meet those needs
Understanding of product design, development and commercialization for life science and/or genetic analysis platforms, content and associated chemistry.
Design and execution of complex test strategies, excellent documentation practice with an attention to detail
You will manage a team focused on troubleshooting to resolve field problems in a timely manner
Builds a great team and great culture to attract, engage, and retain top talent with systems level expertise and deep technical knowledge in qPCR methods, infectious disease assays, sample prep to understand failure modes and effects.
Partner with technical leads in chemistry, assay design, software design and system hardware to commercialize products
Strong collaborator with ability to motivate and drive product design excellence across internal cross-functional teams in a fast paced environment.
How will you get here?
Requires a Systems background with a BS in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology
Minimum of (15+) years of experience in medical diagnostic product development
Proven expertise in data analysis and collation of data from diverse sources. Strong experience in qPCR and molecular diagnostics preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage internal and external relationships at senior levels
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Good technical writing skills, excellent time management skills and ability to work independently required. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and handle multiple and changing programs/projects and priorities.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of customer system issues, developing solutions, then implementing and tracking over time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interpret and summarize scientific results in a clear, concise, accurate manner
