Position Summary:

Work with alumni volunteers, faculty, students, the Office of Development, and other University colleagues to develop, implement, and evaluate activities, programs, services, and communications that reach, serve, and engage alumni. Assist with marketing, planning or managing all/part of alumni programs, events, educational opportunities, and/or other alumni initiatives.

The Regional Manager will work to strengthen and build volunteer-led alumni communities in the Pacific Northwest, Sacramento, western Canada and Alaska, northern and central California, Hawaii and some mountain states. Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers and volunteer led projects and assist with career-related programming and groups as assigned.

In this role you will:

  • Develop contacts and maintain relationships with alumni, faculty, students, staff, and vendors.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating groups of diverse individuals.

  • Plan large scale and/or high level alumni programs and events.

  • Work with SAA Career Connections team to manage all new professional groups, serve as a liaison with Careers for AC led career-related events and serve as the AC lead on programs impacting professional clubs. May also inherit some existing professional groups.

  • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments and schools to achieve the goals of alumni programs or projects.

  • Serve as the staff liaison for the Alumni Association board Club Governance Committee.

  • Work with other departments to identify and implement new markets and develop program strategies.

  • Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost negotiations for alumni events and programs.

  • Evaluate alumni programs and services for customer satisfaction.

  • Occasional travel to Pacific Northwest and Sacramento to meet with alumni and staff events (approximately 4-6 times per year.)

    • Other duties may also be assigned.

To be successful in the role you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent the university professionally both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated experience with volunteer development and oversight.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging and motivating groups of diverse individuals.

  • Strong interpersonal, team, and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with diverse population groups.

  • Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems quickly and accurately, and the ability to develop practical and effective solutions to solve a variety of problems.

  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new systems.
