Job Description and Responsibilities:

Our Laser Diode Components team in Sunnyvale, CA is seeking a Senior Test Technician (2ndshift) to join the team. This position is mainly responsible for executingvisual inspectionof laser diode bars produced in our facility.

  • Work in full clean room attire; full coverall jumpsuit, booties, shoe covers, hairnet and face cover, gloves.

  • Using high power microscopes,visually inspect laser diode components.

  • Identify defects according to a defect catalogue.

  • Handle small, delicate components.

  • Work with microscopes, tweezers & small hand tools for loading/unloading laser diodes bars into fixtures.

  • Enter data into computer software program.

  • If required, train in other work areas, e.g. laser diode bar stacking or wafer processing, involving chemicals.

Education and Work Experience:

  • Vocational Training or Associates Degree in relevant technical field (Electronics, Lasers, Optics)

  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment

  • Previous experience in optic or electronic components manufacture.

  • Experience in laser diode manufacturing highly desired.

  • Computer skills: using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word.

  • Oracle or Agile experience a plus.

  • Previous experience using microscopes and high tech equipment.

  • Basic reading, writing and math skills.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail.

  • Previous experience working with small/delicate parts & materials - demonstrated excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity.

  • Previous experience performing repetitive work on a regular basis.

  • Previous experience reading, understanding and following procedures and work instructions.

  • Excellent spoken and written English, and good communication skills.

  • Good record keeping skills, organized, dependable. Knowledgeable of laser safety and standards, and safety practices in general.

  • Familiar with working in a cleanroom environment; follower of good housekeeping practices.

  • Must work well in teams.

  • Must be U.S. citizen or green card holder.
