Responsible for developing production/supply plans that take into account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Is responsible for identifying and maintaining the appropriate planning parameters in ERP systems to optimize subassembly production and raw material supply plans. May also be responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas based on planned production schedules and for the appropriate shipping of finished goods to various distribution centers utilizing material handling equipment in support of management policies for customer delivery and inventory levels. Includes planners and inventory control roles.
The main objective of this role is to identify supply chain improvement initiatives, lead planning and scheduling team, work with cross-functional teams to achieve process improvements, achieve 95% OTD, improve inventory turns to reach company goals. Passionate about growing efficiency and effectiveness of people, processes and system requirements.
Coach and mentor staff within planning and scheduling group.
Lead efforts to improve timely delivery, cost reduction and quality of all products and services by providing robust analysis of current processes, gap analysis, business systems, and manufacturing process flow.
Lead and run morning AM meetings efficiently with impactful output
Help achieve inventory levels to a set target
Supervise critical metrics and execute corrective action
Help planning and scheduling team to develop monthly production plans
Build and help facilitate a monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings
Utilize capacity models to verify ability to deliver future production plans
Make recommendations to address capacity issues
Lead efforts to optimize inventory levels while maintaining customer service levels
Collaborate with Purchasing and Marketing to find efficient product supply solutions
Collaborate with Marketing and R&D on new commercialization efforts via new product development events (VPM Kaizens)
Collaborates with manufacturing team to problem solve and collect information for effective Routes and Bill of Materials (BOM) inputs in the system(s)
Proactively and independently performs root-cause analysis to drive long-term balanced solutions to achieve operational metrics
College graduate with bachelor’s degree in supply chain, planning and/or operations
ERP and MRP experience
Production cycle and Leadtime understanding
Experienced Level of understanding of Manufacturing BOMs and Routes
Solid understanding of global end-to-end supply chain, manufacturing, and material management
Has been a leader for at least 3 – 4 years
Analytical problem solver
Knowledge of lean concepts (including 5S, Kanban, Lean Six Sigma etc)
Sophisticated solid understanding of MS excel
Previous working experience in material planning required
