Turlock Sheet Metal .and. Welding, DBA: PF Metals Outside Sales Engineer in Turlock, California

Outside Sales Engineer Parts of the East Bay Definition:Under the general supervision of the General Manager, the Sales Engineer maintains relationships and takes orders of existing customers and secures new customers by calling or visiting their sites and performs a variety of duties associated with fulfilling customer needs.i iiiEssential Functions of the Position:Secure orders from existing and potential customers by means of visiting the customeris facility or contacting by phone to set up an appointment, within designated sales area.Secure opportunities to quote on customer requirements, including but not limited to developing repeat and referral business from previous accounts and prospecting for new business. Draft and prepare text of proposals, including the scope of work to be performed, in conjunction with Estimating Department.Follow up (by phone or visit) on quotations submitted to customers.Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, management, or other key personnel).Submit daily and weekly activity/call reports concerning customer-related activities for quotes, orders, and problems concerning customer/vendor relationships.Performs all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.Provide territory sales forecast on a monthly basis.Attend required formal and informal training as requested or needed.Always work safely and abide by PandF Metals safety policy as well as observe safety procedures and correct potentially unsafe conditions or immediately report to the appropriate person if unable to correct.Perform other duties as directed, assigned or instructed.QUALIFICATIONS:Any combination of experience and education that would prepare the candidate for the duties and responsibilities of the position are acceptable.Education:Bacheloris degree in Business or Marketing is preferred, but can be exchanged for industry experience.Experience:Three (3) to five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in sales and marketing of industrial equipment, food processing equipment, or feed mill equipment.Proven track record in sales environment.Supervisory Responsibility:NoneAbility To:Work independently without direct supervision.Ability to icold-calli potential customers to find out their needs and how we can meet their needs.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers.Ability to manage oneis own time efficiently while meeting all customersi needs.Ability to understand how a machine functions to meet customeris requests.Follow verbal and oral instructions.Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, as well as using mathematics to solve problems.Fill out all necessary paperwork daily and weekly, including timekeeping, material usage, etc.Work closely with co-workers and other site contractors in a professional and respectful manner.Knowledge of:Industrial, food processing, and/or feed mill operations.Best practices in a sales environment.Microsoft office applications.Excellent customer service concepts.Necessary Special Requirements:Must complete two hours of Sexual Harassment training every two years in compliance with California AB 1825.A valid California Class C Driver License and the ability to maintain insurability under PandFis vehicle insurance program.Abide by all PandF Metalis policies, safety guidelines and rules.ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:Exposure to the sun: 60% or less work time spent outside a building and exposed to the sun.Irregular or extended work hours: Occasionally required to change working hours or work overtime.Work typically performed in a shop environmentiThe mental and physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.i Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions:ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABIL
