Hyatt Hotel Manager in WEST HOLLYWOOD, California

Debuting in early 2021 are Thompson Hollywood and Caption BY HYATT.

Thompson Hollywood will present a design forward, luxury boutique hotel experience, featuring a superb collection of 190 guest rooms and exceptional amenities reflective of the vibrant spirit of their Hollywood location.

Caption BY HYATT, where lifestyle meets select service is a 212-room hotel that inspires organic connections between people on their own journeys through alluring spaces, food and beverage offerings and experiences that don't begin and end at the door.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Hotel Manager will consistently demonstrate sound leadership and a professional image to colleagues, guests, local community representatives, suppliers and competitors. This senior position requires a hands-on, entrepreneur who has the opportunity to make an impact on the overall operation and success of the hotel.

The Hotel Manager will support the operations team to drive revenue and profit, whilst maintaining company standards for guest satisfaction, colleague engagement, quality assurance and asset protection. A focus for this position is on leading colleagues as a manager, coach and mentor, with the aim of consistently driving guest satisfaction.

Duties include:

  • Serves as a guest advocate for the property, pulls together resources to resolve guest and operational issues and impact results

  • Responsible for short- and long-term planning and the leadership of all operations in the front and back of the house

  • Supervision of

  • All Operations Departments at Caption

  • Housekeeping and Front Office at Thompson

  • Direct and oversee development of leaders and colleagues

  • Direct the implementation of the payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for all operational areas

  • Implement procedures to increase guest and colleague satisfaction

  • Ability to assimilate operational statistics quickly and see how they can be used to enhance position of property

  • Reviews financial reports and statements to understand property’s performance versus budget and expenses. Works to determine areas of concern and develops strategies to improve performance

  • Coaches and supports hotel team to effectively manage wages and controllable expenses.

  • Experience developing standards and operating procedures

  • Coach and counsel colleagues to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

  • Build and Nurture a relationship with the Food & Beverage provider

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management (or related discipline)

  • 6 years or more of progressive Hotel Rooms Management experience

  • Previous department head or senior leadership experience

  • Hotel pre-opening experience preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

  • Effective time management skills to meet commitments across multiple departments, priorities and deadlines

  • Financial acumen required to work with, understand and make decisions based on financial information and data

  • Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line

  • Excellent communication skills to convey information and ideas clearly, both verbal and written

  • Effective listening skills to understand issues and work toward problem resolution

  • Experience working with Opera, Reserve and Micros-Fidelio will be advantageous

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to maintain communications with Corporate Staff and Hotels owners
